DJ Savage Delivers Unreleased Techno Cuts in Grooves 2000-2002 – Selector

Selector’s Sounds series follows a procedure that puts music quality before status or industry relationships. Learn how it works.

Dutch label TH ± Tar Hallow has given a home to its second collection of unreleased music from DJ Savage. As its title suggests, Grooves 2000-2002 comprises four funky techno cuts from nearly two decades ago. It released in digital and vinyl format on October 11th.

“Long Time” and “Threshold” represent the sound signature of the EP, characterized by subtle groove and gritty textures. “Breaking Point” and “Cover-Up” offer a more Detroit-reminiscent iteration of the same style. The effort as a whole speaks to DJ Savage’s timeless production sense as well as TH ± Tar Hallow’s authority as a tastemaker label.

Grooves 2000-2002 is the second in a series, following the September 2020 release of DJ Savage’s Traxx 2000-2002. Since inaugurating with a four-track EP by Super UnKnown aka Damcase in 2015, TH ± Tar Hallow has also signed music by the likes of RhywKlankmanThanos Hana and Neuro-D.

Purchase Grooves 2000-2002 in both digital and 12-inch vinyl record format via TH ± Tar Hallow Bandcamp.
