Caribou Shares Woozy New Techno Single “Cherry” as Daphni – This Song is Sick
Today marks the first day since 2019 that Caribou (aka Dan Snaith) has released new music via his club-focused Daphni alias. “Cherry” follows his Sizzling EP from three years ago, as Snaith reminds us all that he can deliver a dancefloor weapon whenever he feels like it.
The star of the show on this track is, in Snaith’s words, “an endlessly spiraling polyrhythm on an FM synth.” It creates a dizzying sensation, but “Cherry” is held together by a perfect rolling kick drum and a groovy little bassline.
On the Caribou side of things, Dan Snaith’s most recent release was 2021’s “You Can Do It.”
